NHS Innovations South East Limited (NISE) provides a service to improve healthcare by assisting NHS innovators in the region to commercialise their ideas. Due to increasing demand, NISE is looking for dynamic and self-motivated people to assist NHS staff with developing, protecting and commercialising their ideas.

You will be responsible for specific NHS Trusts and will take ownership of a wide ranging project portfolio. An ability to assess projects for potential intellectual property rights (IPR), commercial value and healthcare benefits is vital to this role, together with experience in commercial negotiations and an understanding of legal agreements. You will leverage any idea that shows potential and engage commercial partners.

The role also involves work to raise awareness of IPR throughout our NHS Trusts and providing support to healthcare SMEs in conjunction with the South East Health Technologies Alliance (SEHTA).

Candidates are expected to be educated to post-graduate or doctoral level, and to possess strong technical knowledge together with effective interpersonal and presentation skills. Applications are sought from commercially astute candidates who can demonstrate relevant experience and an ability to deliver results in the technology transfer sector. Previous experience of the NHS is an advantage but not essential.
