Even more professionals are now being trained to be ALERT

Dr Anthony Hill, Senior Innovation Manager for NISE announced today that ALERT the multi-professional training course is now available in Sweden.

 

Following a licence agreement between Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust and Lund University Hospital, Swedish is the latest version of the ALERT training manual to be produced.  Dr Andreas Hvarfner, Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care and his team have been busy establishing ALERT training sites across Scandinavia since 2007.   The University Hospital has established ALERT as a valuable postgraduate training course in Denmark, Norway and now Sweden.  

  

ALERT is a multi-professional training course, held on one day, designed to improve the skills of clinical personnel in identifying and treating critically ill patients. It has received recognition from the UK department of health, UK resuscitation council, British medical association as well as extensive international recognition and peer reviewed. Over the past 6 years over 100,000 UK professionals have completed the training.

 

The current ALERT course is aimed at personnel involved in clinical care but particularly doctors, nurses and some physiotherapists. Other variations of ALERT to support a wider range of staff are in development.
